Allison Cara Tolman, an American actor from the United States. She has been nominated Emmys and Golden Globes for her performance in Fargo: Season 1, in the role of Molly Solverson. Tolman is a native of New York and has two older and one younger brothers. The family relocated to England at the age of couple of months old, and she continued to stay until she reached four years old. Then she lived in Oklahoma for 5 years, and after that, West Texas before moving to Sugar Land. In the year she turned 10years old, Fort Bend Community Theatre began giving acting classes. She was a student at Clements High School, graduating in the year 2000. Baylor University granted her a Master of Fine Arts with an emphasis on theatrical performance. She moved to Dallas after college and was the Second Thought Theatre's founders. Then, in Chicago Illinois she began studying the art of performing with The Second City Training Center in 2009. Career in 2014, Tolman starred in the premiere season of the FX the black comedy crime show Fargo. Fargo is a film that stars veteran actors Billy Bob Thornton Martin Freeman Bob Odenkirk. The movie was based on the Coen brothers' film of the exact same name. Tolman's performance as Minnesota police officer Molly Solverson was praised by Vanity Fair, who wrote: "She calmly and confidently stole the whole performance". Critics' Choice Television Award Best Supporting Actress in a Film/Miniseries. Nominations in Best Actress categories at Emmy Awards, Golden Globes and Critics TV Awards. Tolman was given a two episode guest role as romance novelist Abby Berman on The Mindy Program the same year. In 2015, her second character was on Michael Dougherty's film, horror-film Krampus. Tolman's breakout role as Fargo caused her to drop numerous supporting roles, including those of mothers as well as best friend and wife. Tolman was searching for new roles that were more unusual. In 2017, Tolman starred in ABC's Downward Dog, based on the Animal Media Group web series which was cancelled following one season.
